Bruno Guimaraes reacts after difficult opening to World Cup for Brazil
Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes was in action for Brazil last night as they got their World Cup underway with a 1-1 draw against a spirited Morocco.
Brazil are still far from the powerhouse side most of us remember, and that was immediately evident early on in the game with the AFCON champions in New Jersey last night.
Morocco were dominant from the opening whistle, while Brazil were uncharacteristically wasteful in possession, gifting chance after chance to Morocco, who inevitably took the lead after 21 minutes thanks to a gorgeous dink over Allison by Ismail Saibari.
The lead didn't last long, though, as Vinicius Jr had the Brazilians on level terms with an absolute rocket of a shot from close range, set up by none other than Newcastle's own Bruno Guimaraes.
Bruno Guimaraes looked decent as Brazil struggled
It may just have been the black-and-white tinted specs, but Bruno looked like Brazil's best player on the night. He covered every blade of grass.
Bruno made an important intervention from a Moroccan shot early in the game before notching a World Cup assist for Vini Jr.
After the game, the Newcastle captain took to Instagram to give his thoughts on the game, saying it was a tough start.
"Tough match and complicated debut. We continue looking for evolution, but we are convinced of the work developed! A lot of things ahead. Let's go Brazil"

Brazil will need to topple the mighty Scotland
Scotland tops Brazil's group after they bagged their first World Cup win of the 21st Century thanks to a 1-0 over Haiti.
John McGinn bagged the goal for Scotland that sent them to the top of the group, but looking at both Brazil and Morocco, former Toon caretaker boss Steve Clarke's side will find it difficult to progress.
The tournament is starting to pick up a bit. How are you finding it so far?
