Newcastle eye Dyeidu Massiah as global talent search continues

Newcastle United are continuing to scour the globe for emerging talent, with reports claiming they are monitoring Ghanaian teenager Dyeidu Massiah.

According to talkSPORT, the 19-year-old forward has caught the attention of several top European clubs after making an impressive start to life in the United Arab Emirates.

TalkSPORT understands that Newcastle are keeping tabs on Massiah, who currently plays for UAE top-flight side Forte Virtus.

The Ghanaian joined the club in July and has made an immediate impact, scoring four goals in his opening five games of the season.

His performances have reportedly attracted interest from a number of leading European sides, with Newcastle among those monitoring his progress.

Massiah fits our new recruitment strategy of investing in promising young players who could develop into valuable first-team assets in the future and would likely be a low-cost option.

Newcastle’s global talent search continues

This latest link follows Newcastle’s recent efforts to expand their scouting network across different continents, with the club advertising for an Africa-based scouting analyst to help identify emerging talent across the continent.

The new role will involve assessing players across multiple levels of African football, researching local markets and academies, and identifying prospects who fit Newcastle’s recruitment strategy and playing philosophy.

Newcastle have already demonstrated a willingness to look beyond Europe’s established leagues in their search for young talent.

Recent recruitment has included Johan Martinez from South America, Vakhtang Salia from Georgia, Afner Ca from Spain and Ousmane Diabate from Turkey.

Massiah could represent another opportunity to identify a talented young prospect before his value rises, particularly if he maintains his impressive goalscoring form in the UAE.
