Nick Woltemade sends message to Toon Army after hitting 50 appearances
Nick Woltemade has already racked up 50 games in the black and white of Newcastle United despite only signing for the club in the summer.
When you consider how many games Woltemade missed, too, it just goes to show how manic Newcastle's season has been.
The German has found himself back in the starting lineup of late, although still not in his preferred position of striker.
On Sunday, against West Ham, Woltemade played in a No 10 role behind Will Osula, and it was the German who opened the scoring for the Magpies, marking the occasion with a long overdue goal.
Nick Woltemade thanks fans for the great atmosphere
Nick Woltemade hasn't been the goal-scoring force we all thought he was going to be after his lightning start to his Newcastle career, but bagging that one on Sunday, so close to the World Cup, will no doubt be a massive boost to the 24-year-old.
It will also be a boost for his club career, too, with that being his first Premier League goal since his brace against Chelsea in December.
Woltemade took to Instagram on Sunday to thank the fans for the atmosphere at St James' Park on Sunday while acknowledging his milestone.
"Thanks for the amazing atmosphere today, Geordies 😎 50 Games in Black & White"

Stick with Nick
After scoring his goal, Woltemade was pushed towards the crowd by Malick Thiaw to take the plaudits and the crowd duly obliged.
Newcastle broke their transfer record to bring Woltemade to the club in the summer and while it hasn't been the greatest first season for him, we are convinced that reports that the Magpies will cut their losses in the summer are wide of the mark.
It makes far more sense to use the pre-season to develop a play style that suits both parties, and with the new additions coming in, everything could change, and that could benefit Woltemade, too.
Let's hope common sense prevails and we stick with him. We'll see how he gets on with Germany at the World Cup too. That could swing opinion one way or another.
