WATCH: Bruno Guimaraes scores for Brazil in World Cup warm-up clash

Brazil rounded off their World Cup preparations on Saturday night with a 2-1 win over Egypt.

Despite being far from their best in recent years, Brazil will go into the 2026 World Cup as one of the favourites, as they always do.

A big part of the Brazil set up these days is Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes, who was in inspired form for the Samba Boys last night.

Bruno waited just seven minutes to get his side rolling as he scored the opening goal of the game.

Bruno took just seven minutes to get on the score sheet

The Toon captain was on high alert as Egypt tried to play out from the back, stealing the ball from a pinned-in defender just outside of the area before taking it a couple of yards and firing in a curling effort from the edge of the box.

Bruno Guimaraes recently spoke about how he would give his life for World Cup glory, so he's clearly fired up for the competition, and it showed with that finish last night.

You can see the goal here, and we definitely recommend turning the sound up for the classic, mental Brazilian commentary.

Brazil made it look difficult last night

Egypt equalised just four minutes later, but it as Brazil who emerged victorious thanks to a 52nd-minute winner from Endrick.

It's hardly convincing from Brazil, who kick off their World Cup campaign on Saturday 13th against Morocco.

England also didn't exactly look convincing against New Zealand last night either, mind. I can't really comment too much on that one, though because the combination of Lee Dixon and a boring game meant that I turned that one off before half-time.
