WATCH: Sean Neave bags assist in big win for Wolves at Burnley

Sean Neave made his first Championship start for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night, helping his side come from behind to claim a valuable 2-1 victory away at Burnley.

The Newcastle United youngster was handed his opportunity from the start at Turf Moor and made it count, registering an assist as Wolves bounced back from consecutive defeats.

Neave assists Wolves fight back

Neave was named in the starting line-up for the first time in the Championship after making four substitute appearances earlier in the campaign.

The 19-year-old was given his chance after injuries to Wolves strikers Raul Jimenez and Adam Armstrong left manager César Peixoto short of options up front.

Burnley took the lead through Jamie Vardy in the 20th minute, but Wolves responded just before half-time. Neave helped create the equaliser in the 39th minute, winning possession outside the Burnley penalty area before squaring the ball to Fer López, who finished via the inside of the post.

It was an encouraging contribution from the Newcastle loanee, who showed composure in a key moment to help Wolves get back into the contest.

The visitors went on to complete the comeback in the second half, with substitute Tawanda Chirewa scoring in the 72nd minute to secure all three points.

The 2-1 victory was Wolves’ first win in three league matches and lifted them to sixth in the Championship table.

Another big step fit Neave

The start represents another important step in his development at senior level, coming just weeks after he impressed away to Everton in the Carabao Cup.

Regular football is the priority for the teenage striker, and contributing to a comeback victory against Championship opposition will provide valuable experience as he looks to establish himself at this level.
