WATCH: Tino Livramento returns ahead of Premier League opener with Liverpool

While our search for a new right back continues, Tino Livramento has returned to training. A major boost for the squad; now he needs to be managed correctly.

Posted by Newcastle on X, Livramento was shown back in training with the rest of the squad. With just a week to go before the season starts, it’s great news.

Tino picked up an injury while away with England at the World Cup in the USA. His call-up was a huge moment for the young defender, but he never got the chance to make an appearance, with injury cutting his time short.

A much-needed boost

Yesterday, Tino posted an image of himself training alone away from the club, which led to speculation that he was still a fair way off returning. Those fears are slightly eased now, however.

Though he’s still clearly some way off, as he's currently training on his own. While this is likely just a general fitness thing, it will also have a lot to do with the fact that the players are preparing for the weekend. Given his time out, we’d suspect Tino will not feature in either of the two SJP friendly games.

In the extended “Dan Burn Returns” video posted by the club, it actually shows off some more positive news. Tino has been back training since the team returned to Newcastle at the very least. Which means rumours of him being in Newcastle while the squad was in Spain have some weight.

Regardless, Tino may well be slightly more along the road to recovery than first thought.

Finally, a right back!

'Like a new signing' is always a joke with Newcastle, but thanks to the return of Dan Burn and Tino, we've now got two more fit full-backs.

While we’d rather not see Burn run down the wing in the 90th minute of a game, he can play there, and if it means Hall doesn’t get injured, we’re here for it.

Overall, Tino being back is only good news, and with a new manager at the club, it’s a fresh chance for the youngster to push on, put injuries behind him and kick on.
