Injury specialist reveals Alexander Isak concern - Newcastle facing big decision?

Premier League injury analyst Ben Dinnery has been discussing Alexander Isak's injury situation after the Swede was forced off in last night's 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

The injury expert reveals that this is his FOURTH groin issue since October, where he has typically missed anywhere between 10 days and a month.

He fears that surgery may be required to sort this 'ongoing issue' for the striker and is unsure how Newcastle will manage his latest setback, with 'conservative treatment and rest' the alternative if he doesn't go under the knife.

Eddie Howe was 'hopeful' that it was nothing serious for Isak, who decided to come off himself, but with Callum Wilson yet to train after missing the last month with a calf injury, it's left Newcastle with a big decision to make.

Here's what Dinnery has had to say on Twitter when assessing Isak's latest issue:

'This an ongoing issue - his fourth related groin problem since October, typically missing between 10 days and a month.

'The absence of Callum Wilson exacerbates the situation, and it remains to be seen whether conservative treatment and rest will remedy the situation or whether he may need to go under the knife.'
