Newcastle release photos of Kelly, Howe, Vlachodimos and Ruddy as pre-season begins

A host of Newcastle United players have been pictured back at the club's Benton base this morning, where pre-season training has officially begun as we build towards the 2024/25 season.

Three players of particular interest include new signings Lloyd Kelly, Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy, with the trio of summer signings pictured in our new Adidas training gear for the first time as routine tests take place on 'day one' of pre-season.

It's great to see Willock back in for the first day of pre-season, with the midfielder fit again following Achilles issues that ended his 2023/24 campaign early. It's sometimes an overused term, but he really could be 'like a new signing' if he can stay fit, get a good summer of training under his belt and reach his best levels this season.

England stars Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon remain away at Euro 2024 ahead of Sunday's final, while the likes of Fabian Schar, Bruno Guimaraes, Martin Dubravka and Miguel Almiron will be given extended breaks after their involvement in international tournaments this summer.
