Tonali and Gordon benched - Confirmed Newcastle team vs Brentford
The team sheets are in at the Gtech, where Eddie Howe's Newcastle take on a Thomas Frank's Brentford in today's 3pm kick-off.
Here's how we line up as we look to end the Bees' unbeaten start to the season at home:
NUFC XI: Pope - Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall - Longstaff, Bruno, Joelinton - Murphy, Isak, Barnes.
SUBS: Dubravka, Trippier, Tonali, Wilson, Gordon, Targett, Osula, Almiron, Kelly.
Howe has made TWO changes from our midweek draw with Liverpool, with Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon - who were both suffering with fatigue on Wednesday - replaced by Sean Longstaff and Harvey Barnes.
Joe Willock missed out altogether, but Kieran Trippier is back on the bench after recovering rom illness.
Brentford XI: Flekken, van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter, Yarmoliuk, Nørgaard, Mbeumo, Carvalho, Wissa, Thiago.
SUBS: Valdimarsson, Mee, Ajer, Roerslev, Konak, Trevitt, Maghoma, Schade, Damsgaard
Hope for Howe at Brentford
Brentford sit top of the table for home form alone (P7, W6, D1, L0), but the teams they've faced so far this season sit 17th, 20th, 14th, 19th, 18th, 9th & 16th in table, not to mention the fact we've beaten them in our last three trips to the Gtech.
On top of that, we've never actually lost a league game against the Bees since their promotion back to the Premier League, winning our last five top flight meetings.
Let's hope that theme continues today and once again when we meet in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday 18th December.
Howay the lads!
