AIK line up Zadok Yohanna replacement after €24m Newcastle bid
It has been reported that Newcastle United has made an offer for AIK winger Zadok Yohanna.
Brighton and Hove Albion have already agreed terms with the 18-year-old, but a report on Wednesday claimed that it's the Magpies who have made the most convincing offer to the Swedish side.
Chelsea are thought to be ready to enter the race for the teenager too, and as such, AIK are already planning for his departure.
A report from Swedish outlet Aftonbladet has claimed that AIK already have Yohanna's replacement lined up.
AIK look ready to sell
This is encouraging for the Premier League trio as it suggests that AIK is ready and expecting Zadok Yohanna to leave imminently.
The issue now is where he will end up? Brighton are still seen as favourites given they already have a verbal agreement in place with the player.
However, they still haven't managed to reach an agreement with AIK, and until they do that, Newcastle could speak to Yohanna and convince him to come to Tyneside instead.
Newcastle may have their work cut out for them
We still feel Brighton will have the edge given the fact they can offer European football next season; however, Newcastle should be able to convince the teenager that they will be back in Europe after next season and that the most recent campaign was just a blip due to a difficult summer beforehand.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg seemed convinced that things will move pretty quickly with regards to Yohanna's situation, so we may not have to wait too long to find out where he's going to end up, especially in light of AIK confirming today that they are in talks over his sale.
We'll be keeping everything crossed that Newcastle can pull this off because this kid looks pretty special.
