Bruno Guimarães drops subtle hint over Newcastle United future

Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães has been the subject of many a story regarding his future this summer.

The Brazil star has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal as agents working on his behalf have been feeding the media story after story about a possible switch.

As journalists have done a bit of digging, though, it became more and more clear that Arsenal have made absolutely no contact with Newcastle over a move for Bruno.

Reports that the Gunners had a bid of £55 million rejected were wide of the mark, and even weeks later, there has been no contact between the clubs, according to Keith Downie.

A hint from Bruno Guimarães?

One thing that is true is that Bruno Guimarães spoke to the club to say he would like the opportunity to speak to Arsenal should a suitable bid come in.

Bruno didn't put in a transfer request and also told the club that he wouldn't force a move, nor would he kick up a fuss if Arsenal didn't offer what Newcastle deemed to be a good fee.

It now looks as though Bruno is set to stay at Newcastle as it's all gone very quiet on the Arsenal front. But just to add a bit more hope into the mix for Newcastle, Bruno has just changed his profile picture on Instagram from him in a Brazil kit to one of him in a Newcastle kit with his family.

It makes sense, now that Brazil's World Cup dream is over, that Bruno would change his profile picture, but for him to use one specifically where he's sporting a Newcastle kit, that's got to be a little message, right?

If he was having serious doubts about the club, he'd just use a photo of him with his family in his everyday kit, or just stick with his Brazil photo.
