Bruno Guimaraes’ reps hold talks with Arsenal - Report

Buckle up! Reports are now coming out claiming that representatives of Bruno Guimaraes have held talks over a possible move to Arsenal this summer.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be summer without a story linking Bruno Guimaraes with one of the Premier League's 'Big Six'.

As is well established at this point, mainstream media can't stand the idea that Newcastle has any world-class players, so when we do, it becomes a mission to try and push them out of our club and to one of their darling legacy clubs.

We're very aware of how talented Bruno Guimaraes is, and he proved it again last night for Brazil, so of course, we can believe that 'bigger clubs' will be coveting him.

Arsenal to make a move for Bruno Guimaraes?

The Daily Mail has reported tonight, though, that talks have actually taken place. They aren't just spouting 'interested' rumours, they are saying that Bruno's people have met Arsenal's people.

They aren't going all-in on the Bruno rumours, claiming that the 28-year-old is merely one of a handful of options for Mikel Arteta this summer as they look to improve the squad after winning the title.

Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is another player Arsenal are looking at, but Villa are demanding £100 million. There's been no fee mentioned for Bruno Guimaraes, but for us, we should be saying £100 million at least, too.

In fairness to The Mail, they also aren't claiming that there's anything more to these talks. There's no indication that Bruno is angling for a move, but it’s a concern to see such a pivotal figure linked with a move away.

We just don't see Bruno leaving us for a Premier League rival

Bruno Guimaraes absolutely loves Newcastle, the club, the city, the fans. It would take something special to lure him away, and that would likely have to be Real Madrid or Barcelona. Both are clubs that Bruno has talked about playing for at some point in his career.

We simply do not see Bruno leaving us for another Premier League club. Although I was adamant that Alexander Isak wouldn't either, and look how that turned out. However, Bruno is different. Very different.

This story wasn't what I wanted to have ping up on my phone as I was sitting down to eat, but taking that time to finish my bait before writing the story gave me time to calm down and see things rationally.

It's not happening. Let's operate under that assumption until it becomes utterly undeniable, and he's there on the pitch at the Emirates holding the shirt.
