Bruno Guimarães return date revealed as Arsenal rumours continue

Bruno Guimarães is still enjoying his summer break after representing Brazil at the World Cup, but the Newcastle United man is still the subject of intense speculation.

We're very baffled by what's going on with Bruno Guimarães at Newcastle this summer after reports that the Brazilian has told the club he would like to explore the possibility of a move to Arsenal.

Those reports insist that Bruno has said that he'd only entertain the move if he felt Newcastle were getting value for money and he wouldn't stomp his feet and kick up a fuss.

However, it seems that nobody has told his agent that, as there are almost daily reports that Arsenal are interested and ready to make a bid, with some outlets even going as far as to say that the Gunners have made two bids already.

Newcastle do not want to sell Bruno Guimarães

Sources inside Newcastle vehemently deny that there has been any contact from Arsenal, and yet the rumours will not go away.

Bruno Guimarães is set to return to Newcastle in early August, according to The Chronicle, and hopefully we'll get some answers about his future then. If he turns up for training, then he's already doing better than Alexander Isak did last year.

As the club captain and one of, if not the most important player at the club, Newcastle obviously do not want to sell the 28-year-old if they don't have to, but if they do, then they want a hefty sum for his services.

Part of Bruno's reasoning for wanting to make sure his potential exit is handled properly is so that he does not tarnish his legacy at the club, but we fear that it may already be too late for that.

Our so-called fans will drive him away

Some so-called fans have already begun to turn on the club captain and have made their feelings very clear on social media. Quite how they don't see that they're not exactly giving him a good reason to stay is absolutely baffling.

Emotions tend to run very high in football fandom, but some of our alleged fans need to learn better ways to deal with them rather than taking to social media to name-call and swear at people, especially our own players.

If I were Bruno Guimarães and I read some of these posts directed at me after everything I'd done for the club, I'd hand in an official transfer request and issue a 'come and get me' plea to any interested club.

For some reason, we as fans expect players to have the same level of loyalty to a club as we do, even though they aren't supporters, they're not from near here, and they are, as far as they're concerned, employees. 

Bruno Guimarães has fallen in love with Newcastle, but he's a footballer with a short career, and he can see that the project has stalled, and if he wants to achieve the levels he's dreamt of, he's going to have to leave. It doesn't mean he doesn't still love Newcastle; he's just got to look out for himself. It sucks, we hate it, but it's part of the game. Legends leave, and we find new ones.
