Chris Sutton makes Coventry vs Newcastle prediction after five wrong calls

Chris Sutton is predicting a 1-1 draw at Coventry on Monday night, questioning Newcastle's control of matches despite praising the pace in Matthias Jaissle's side.

The BBC pundit is still waiting for his first correct Newcastle result of the season. Our 2-1 win over Hull made it five wrong calls from five, leaving him on zero points as The Sutton Scorecard returns.

Sutton predicts a draw at Coventry

Writing in his latest BBC Sport predictions, Sutton explains:

"Newcastle are an exciting watch with the way they set about games and have so much pace in their team, but I don't think they have much control of matches.
"This feels like a great opportunity for Coventry to follow up their first win of the season with another positive result.
"Beating Nottingham Forest last time out was such a massive result for the Sky Blues - but can they back it up with another victory?
"I am not sure they will. A draw feels like the obvious result to me."

Sutton's prediction: Coventry 1-1 Newcastle.

Monday's game at the Coventry Building Society Arena kicks off at 8pm, with Newcastle looking for back-to-back league wins.

Hull makes it five wrong calls

His 1-1 prediction in our last Sutton Scorecard produced another zero, with Newcastle holding on for a 2-1 win over Hull before the international break.

In this week's column, Sutton says the Tigers deserved something from that game, adding: "I should have been right."

No points for that, unfortunately. But a match in which we went 2-0 up inside seven minutes and finished hanging on does give his concern about control some substance.
