EXCLUSIVE: Lewis Hall set to sign two-year extension at Newcastle United

NUFCBLOG can exclusively reveal that Lewis Hall is set to sign a new contract at Newcastle United after reaching an agreement with the club over significantly improved terms.

It’s understood the deal is now in the final stages of being formalised, with legal formalities ongoing ahead of an official announcement.

An agreement has been reached between all parties and the belief is that Hall has agreed an additional two years, which would effectively tie him to Newcastle for another five years.

The improved terms are viewed as a reward for Hall’s performances over the past season and his growing importance within the first team.

Matthias Jaissle is understood to be a huge admirer of the 21 year old and views him as a key part of his plans going forward. Newcastle have therefore moved to secure Hall’s long term future and reflect his status within the squad with a significant improvement to his existing terms.

Manchester United have previously shown interest in Hall and are likely to revisit the possibility of a deal. However, the message coming out of Newcastle is clear. The club have no intention of entertaining offers for the fullback and see him as an important part of the side they are building.

Hall may not be the only Newcastle player to receive a new deal in the coming months…

It’s also understood the club are strongly considering handing Jacob Murphy a further one year extension. There has also been consideration given to extending Joe Willock’s contract, with The Magpies keen to protect the value of players approaching the latter stages of their existing deals.

For Hall, though, the situation is much further advanced. His new contract has been agreed and, barring any issues with the remaining formalities, an official announcement is expected once the legal process is complete.
