Fernandez-Pardo and El Khannouss keen on Newcastle move as Toon eye two more - Report

Newcastle’s attentions have now well and truly turned to attackers over the final few days of the summer transfer window.

With Nico Gonzalez signed, Matthias Jaissle is on the lookout for a new No.10 and another versatile attacker able to add something different in wide areas.

A busy few days are anticipated, with ins and outs likely. Besiktas are still pushing for Joe Willock, Nick Woltemade and Jacob Murphy‘s futures are up in the air, and Will Osula’s injury is one to watch as he prepares to see a specialist. So what’s the latest? 

Two targets keen on move

According to Mark Douglas at the iPaper, both Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Stuttgart’s Bilal El Khannouss are interested in joining Newcastle United. 

He reports that the pair are ‘open’ to the idea of joining Jaissle on Tyneside, and insists that Newcastle hope to end the window with TWO new attacking additions.

The Ligue 1 and Bundesliga club's both want ‘big money’, and caution is being briefed on our hopes of lending Fernandez-Pardo, while talks have taken place over a move for El Khannouss.

Interestingly, a third unnamed option is also in place, as Douglas adds: ‘They have held talks with a third target who can fill in up front whose identity is yet to emerge.’

El Khannouss is thought to be keen on a move back to the Premier League, having previously impressed at Leicester during relegation season two years ago. 

Fernandez-Pardo punished by Lille 

Lille have told Newcastle target Matias Fernandez-Pardo to stay away from first-team training for the final few days of the summer transfer window.

​Manager Davide Ancelotti has confirmed the club’s disciplinary move, with the Belgian banished while he pushes to secure a late transfer. 

"We made the decision that he will no longer train with the group until the end of the transfer window."
