"I think he's gone" - Richard Keys believes Eddie Howe will leave Newcastle
Richard Keys' track record of breaking Newcastle United news isn't exactly top-tier, but it doesn't stop him from trying.
The beIN Sports presenter recently claimed that the PIF were trying to sell Newcastle United and had buyers lined up.
It didn't take long before sources with far better connections than Richard Keys were able to shut down those rumours.
Indeed, even as recently as last week, there were talks that former co-owner Amanda Staveley had put together a US-based consortium to buy the club for £2bn, but again, the message coming out of Newcastle was that the club was not for sale.
What does Richard Keys have against Newcastle?
Still, Richard Keys is having another punt at trying to make himself look like somebody in the know with his recent quotes about managerial changes in the Premier League in the summer, where he's claimed Eddie Howe will be one of them.
"I think there's going to be significant change in the Premier League.
"I've been making a number of calls, and having spoken to a number of high-end sources, I think he's [Howe] gone. I think he's gone.
"Ten days before LIV collapsed, people were backing LIV. I think he's gone."
It just doesn't add up
So, Qatar-based Richard Keys has high-end sources with Saudi ties? Unlikely.
Also, the sale of LIV happening after denials is his justification for believing what he's been told/made up in his hairy mind?
Sorry, Richard, but your crusade against Newcastle is just making you look desperate and petty at this point.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan was in attendance at St James' Park on Saturday, loving his life. All the noises coming out of the meetings at Matfen Hall have reinforced the PIF's commitment to the club and that they fully back Eddie Howe.
