Joe Willock eyeing return to London - Report
Nothing has been confirmed, but it looks as though Joe Willock's time at Newcastle United will come to an end this summer.
The former Arsenal man has been a handy squad player for Eddie Howe without ever really threatening the established order.
Injuries and a lack of consistency have plagued the last couple of seasons for the 26-year-old and with just one year left on his contract, it feels like the summer is the right time to move on.
There have been clubs showing interest in Willock in the past when he was linked with a potential exit, with both Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leeds United showing interest in the past.
Joe Willock wants to return to London
If Crystal Palace or Fulham's interest still remains, they will probably have a good shot at convincing the midfielder to join, according to The Telegraph.
As Luke Edwards has gone through the Newcastle squad to give his opinion on whether each player will stay or leave, he mentioned that Willock is keen on a return to London.
Newcastle are thought to be open to listening to offers for Willock, who was the subject of a £20 million bid from Fulham in January, but at the time Newcastle weren't willing to sell without a replacement lined up.
A shame how Willock's Newcastle career has panned out
After such an impressive start to life as a Newcastle player when he arrived on loan from Arsenal, it's a shame that Willock wasn't able to continue to perform at that level. We weren't expecting him to continue the fantastic goal-scoring record, but he just didn't impact games enough in any way.
On his day, Willock can be fantastic, but we need players who we can rely on, who are going to perform to the best of their ability every time they step out onto the pitch, and unfortunately, that's not Willock.
We won't be marching on Barrack Road with pitchforks and torches if he's not moved on in the summer, but in terms of bringing in money and refreshing the squad, it makes far more sense if he is.
