Joelinton out, Trippier starts - Confirmed Newcastle & West Ham team news
Newcastle United take on West Ham United at 5:30pm live on Sky Sports in the Magpies' final home game of the season.
The curtain will come down on Newcastle's season at home today, with an away trip to Fulham next week bringing an end to a forgettable season.
With this being the last home game, it's a chance for some players already known to be leaving the club to say their goodbyes, and the big question is whether Eddie Howe will give those players any time on the pitch during the game or whether they'll just have to make do with the lap of honour after the game to say their farewells to the fans.
Kieran Trippier was the main question mark, particularly with Tino Livramento injured, and now that the team news is out, we can confirm that the 35-year-old will be in the team from kick-off while Joelinton's latest injury keeps him out of contention.
The team news is in
Newcastle XI: Pope - Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Hall - Tonali, Bruno, Ramsey, - Osula, Woltemade, Barnes.
Subs: Ramsdale, Wissa, Gordon, Elanga, J. Murphy, Willock, Burn, A. Murphy, Neave
West Ham XI: Hermansen - Wan-Bissaka, Disasi, Todibo, Diouf, Mavrapanos - Bowen, Fernandes, Soucek, Summerville - Wilson
Subs: Areola, Walker-Peters, Kilman, Taty, Pablo, Magassa, Scarles, Potts, Kante
How will Newcastle line up?
Newcastle look like they've reverted to a 4-3-3 with Will Osula on the right flank. There were rumours before kick-off that Anthony Elanga could have been selected ahead of Osula, but that proved not to be the case.
Anthony Gordon has to make do with a spot on the bench yet again. Another sign that the England winger is heading for the exit in the summer.
We're glad to see Kieran Trippier given a proper send-off with one last game at St James' Park. Hopefully it'll be a memorable one for him, although there's still that weird feeling of satisfaction we can get from getting beaten today knowing that it could contribute to Tottenham's relegation.
Let's just enjoy the day.
