Lewis Miley steps up recovery from broken leg as new training footage emerges
A group of Newcastle United stars returned to training on Monday as pre-season preparations begin.
Those involved with the World Cup remain away to have a break before returning, and obviously, Dan Burn is still on duty with England, who take on Argentina on Wednesday night.
Early on Monday, we got a sneak peek at the players turning up for training as the club posted photos on the official website and a brief video on X.
Later in the day, the club released a seven-minute video on YouTube showing a more detailed look at the first day back at the newly branded training facilities, and we got a better look at who was there.
Lewis Miley is back in training
We had already seen that Tino Livramento was back in training after he was cruelly forced to leave the England camp before England's World Cup had even got underway, but he wasn't the only injured party who appeared in the video.
Back in May, Lewis Miley suffered a fractured fibula in training, ruling him out for the last few games of the season, but the 19-year-old is back in training on day one ahead of what could be a massive season for him after the departure of Sandro Tonali.
Ewen Jaouen was also present, as were Will Osula, Harvey Barnes and Leo Shahar. Everyone looked to be in good shape and ready to go.
How nice is that training kit?
Our big takeaway from the main video, however, was just how beautiful our new training kit is. The blue top with an almost shiny pattern to it looks gorgeous, and even the KNOX badges on the sleeve fit well - far more integrated than the NOON sleeve sponsor on the kits.
There's no sign of these tops on the online store yet, but the beige variant is available.
Newcastle will take on Darlington on Saturday in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
