Manchester United have no interest in Lewis Hall - Report

There have been many Manchester United fans on social media lately, absolutely adamant that Lewis Hall was going to leave Newcastle United for them.

Rumours did the rounds claiming that Lewis Hall was unhappy at Newcastle and had a falling out with Eddie Howe after being left out of the England squad.

Quite what Thomas Tuchel's decision has to do with Eddie Howe, we have no idea. In an attempt to back up the claims, the fact that Hall wasn't playing regularly towards the end of the season was spouted - but the truth is, Hall was dropped for just one game as Eddie Howe felt that Dan Burn was the better option for the opposition.

It was all sheer nonsense and Newcastle fans could see right through it, but Man United fans were clinging to it and became absolutely convinced that Hall - a lifelong Newcastle fan - was going to turn his back on the club he loves to go to them.

Mike Keegan puts an end to the Lewis Hall rumours

Finally, someone has spoken sense. On the United Stand podcast, which was where much of this nonsense began, The Daily Mail's Mike Keegan has set the record straight. Hat tip to Magpie Media for the clip.

"There was a story about Lewis Hall, apparently. Nobody at United knows where that's come from. They have no interest in Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.

"As it stands, I'm told there's literally bafflement at United, they don't know where that's come from."

Watching the hope drain out of Beth's eyes was magnifique

What we absolutely love about that clip is that it was on Beth's watch. Beth was the one who had really been hammering this point for weeks, insisting that it was going to happen, while bizarrely claiming that an acceptable fee for Hall would be £40m.

If she rates him that highly, then why would you think that we'd take £40 million for him? There was nothing about these claims about Hall to Man United that ever made sense.

We're glad that someone has finally put an end to this, especially after Ben Jacobs tried to add fuel to the fire.
