Matthias Jaissle adds Alexander Bade to Newcastle team as another exit is confirmed

A summer of change continues at St James' Park, with both the playing and management staff transforming in recent months.

Alongside seven senior additions, we've seen Academy additions and project signings like Johan Martinez, a new £190m training ground confirmed and commercial deals struck with KNOX and SumUp.

Another move has seen Matthias Jaissle piece together his own coaching staff, meaning more departures from some long-serving coaches who'd been core members under Eddie Howe.

Bade arrives as Bartlett replacement 

Alexander Bade has joined Newcastle United as Head of Goalkeeping, replacing Adam Bartlett in Matthias Jaissle's new-look backroom team.

The 56-year-old German brings a wealth of experience to the role, working as a goalkeeping coach during spells with Koln, Austria Vienna and Al Ahli.

Bade, who worked with Jaissle in his last role in Saudi Arabia, has also worked as assistant manager during stints at Borussia Dortmund and Hungarian giants Ferencvaros.

Bartlett's departure comes after seven years on Tyneside, where he worked his way up from a U23 coach to Newcastle's senior Head of Goalkeeping, replacing long-serving Simon Smith four years ago.

In a farewell post on his personal LinkedIn page, Bartlett has reflected on his time on Tyneside with real fond memories.

“The four-plus years working with the senior side has brought me countless memories which I will forever cherish. 

"From Champions League qualification on two occasions and the campaigns we experienced on the back of it. To two cup finals and bringing home the first domestic trophy to Tyneside since 1955. As a local lad, it has been what dreams are made of.

“The best part of it all though, has been to work with an outstanding group of goalkeepers.

“That made the day to day work so special because all were not only top level professionals with ability we could only dream of, they were all fantastic people and all of which I will always consider as friends.”

Bartlett is just one of several staff member who've departed following Eddie Howe's exit, with Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones and Stephen Purches leaving alongside Simon Weatherstone.
