Newcastle batter Sunderland as young Mags get off to a flyer

Newcastle United’s Under-18s continued their impressive start to the season with a dominant 3-0 victory away to Sunderland on Saturday. 

The Young Mags put in a superb derby display to claim all three points, with three different Toon talents finding the net on Wearside.

Newcastle made it a memorable trip across the Tyne, beating the Mackems 3-0 in the latest edition of the Tyne-Wear derby.

Highly-rated attacking midfielder Charlie Robinson, 15, opened the scoring before Noah Morgan doubled the advantage. Theo Benjamin then completed the scoring to secure a convincing victory for the Young Mags.

It was a brilliant result for our teenage talents, with our Under 18s starting the season superbly after an impressive 2025/26.  

Young Mags flying high 

The victory sees Newcastle climb up to second in the Premier League North table, with only Manchester City currently sitting above them.

Last season, only Man City and Man Utd finished above Chris Moore’s Mags, who’ve scored 19 goals in their opening six league games so far this season.

Former Ranger talent Alfie Hutchison has made a particularly impressive start to the campaign, scoring six goals in six, including a hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Leicester.
