Nico Gonzalez filmed in Newcastle ahead of £50m move from Man City

Nico Gonzalez has moved a step closer to sealing a £50m move from Man City to Newcastle United.

Yesterday, a full agreement was confirmed, with the player saying goodbye to his teammates in Manchester before travelling north.

He arrived on Tyneside last night and, with medical checks planned this morning, he's been spotted on the Quayside this morning ahead of those tests.

Nico Gonzalez has been filmed leaving the Dakota hotel on the Quayside this morning as he prepares to put the finishing touches on a £50m move.

Sky Sports' Keith Downie has shared footage of the 24-year-old leaving the hotel and boarding the famous black people carrier, as he heads to complete his medical at the club.

There is hope his signing will be announced before tonight's 7.45pm kick-off at home to West Brom in the Carabao Cup, making him our seventh summer addition. 

Forward next for NUFC? 

In an additional transfer update from Keith Downie, it's claimed Newcastle 'hope' to bring in another forward over the final seven days of the summer window.

However, he warns that Newcastle will 'only sign a player they want', and will not bring in just 'someone out of desperation.'

Lille's Matias Fernandez-Pardo continues to be linked, following news of a final offer worth £51m. His versatility will appeal to Jaissle, with the Belgian able to play down either flank or in a central attacking role.

Hopefully another breakthrough can follow, giving Newcastle another option both out wide and in that No.10 role between now and January.
