Sean Neave hope offered by Wolves chief - Positive comments after late loan move
As the clock struck 11pm last night, no announcement had been made on Sean Neave proposed loan move to Wolves.
However, at 10am on Wednesday morning, the striker's switch to Molineux was confirmed on a season-long loan.
The move sees Neave join former Newcastle skipper Kieran Trippier in the Midlands, with ex-Mag Adam Armstrong also at the club.
Wolves currently sit third in the Championship as they look to bounce straight back to the Premier League following relegation in May.
Wolves director offers game time hope
The big question is game time for the 19-year-old, who has only made two senior appearances for Newcastle United.
It's a good move in terms of club size, division and those he will train with on a daily basis, but he NEEDS minutes to progress. And comments from Wolves' technical director Matt Jackson suggest Neave will get them.
Speaking to Wolves' official site, Jackson reveals that manager Cesar Peixoto has no problem playing youngsters, also talking up the need for 35-year-old striker Raul Jimenez to share the load in a busy Championship season:
“That (game time( was obviously an important part of their consideration. Raul (Jimenez), we know, can be such a great figure to learn from, but the way that we play, fresh legs will often be useful later in games.
"Cesar does not care about age, so the best players will play. Sean has an opportunity to force his way into the team but will also get great exposure at a really high level.
“Having done that loan role here, I understand Newcastle’s expectations for their young players. I could explain exactly what our project was, and having the backing of the head coach really helped too. It works when you can offer a project that really stimulates the player but also satisfies the needs of our football club.”
“We knew that Newcastle would make a very late decision on him and we wanted to be in the mix, and lucky enough we were given the opportunity to present to them, alongside other clubs. Cesar joining the call on a matchday as a head coach shows the buy-in that he has for recruitment process.
“I'd like to think that resonated with Sean, his representatives and the senior representatives from Newcastle. It’s great to have that support, and we’re delighted to welcome him here.”

After a busy summer of change, featuring a new manager, EIGHT senior signings and several outgoings, Ross Wilson has had a busy few months to put it mildly.
And based on Jackson's comments below, it sounds like our sporting director also played a key role in Neave's switch to Wolves.
