Tino Livramento injury update - Good news for Jaissle ahead of Liverpool clash
It's been a tough 2026 for Tino Livramento, who has endured his fair share of highs and lows since arriving on Tyneside three years ago.
After a difficult 2025/26, filled with injury issues and a struggle to recapture his best form, the 23-year-old was named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad.
His versatility and one-vs-one defending was clearly valued by the German, but he was forced to withdraw from the squad mid-tournament after picking up an injury in mid June.
Two months on, after plenty of work behind the scenes on Tyneside, it looks like he's finally close to resuming full fitness.
Livramento lift ahead of Liverpool clash
For the first time this summer, Tino Livramento has returned to full first-team training at Newcastle United.
After visiting the club's training ground this morning ahead of Sunday's opener against Liverpool, Sky Sports' Keith Downie shared footage of the 23-year-old back in action, as seen below.
It's the first time Matthias Jaissle will have seen the former Southampton full-back in action, allowing the German to take a closer look just 24 hours after the arrival of fellow right-back Amar Dedic.
Dedic set to start on Sunday?
Considering Jaissle's previous relationship with Dedic, whom he clearly trusts, and the fact that he's had a full pre-season with Benfica, the Bosnian looks in good shape to be thrown straight into the side.
Livramento may have Premier League experience, but he won't be ready to start this Sunday after failing to feature in any of our pre-season friendlies.
I'd also be surprised if Under-21 duo Leo Shahar or Mason Miley were thrown into the side against Liverpool, even if they've grasped their opportunities impressively over pre-season.
Yes, the pair performed superbly over the St James' Park double header last weekend, but Dedic has a full week of training ahead of him and high-level experience across the Champions League and World Cup, putting him in good stead to step up.
