WATCH: Ousmane Diabate scores stunner in Turkey after Newcastle United switch

Newcastle talent Ousmane Diabate has wasted little time reminding supporters of his potential after scoring a superb goal in Turkey on Sunday.

The 18-year-old midfielder completed his move to Newcastle earlier this month, before being immediately sent back to Gençlerbirliği on loan for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.

It’s been an impressive rise from the teenager, who has one goal and an assist in five Super Lig games this season after breaking into Gençlerbirligi‘s first team after shining in the Under-19s. 

Diabate scores superb volley 

Diabate started against Kasımpaşa and opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, giving Gençlerbirliği a 1-0 lead.

The Guinea international showed his quality with a superb volleyed finish to put his side ahead, which you can watch below around 1:30 into the video: 

Sadly for Gençlerbirliği, however, they eventually suffered a 2-1 defeat after Kasımpaşa scored twice in the second half.

It was another encouraging moment for the highly-rated midfielder, who Newcastle have signed after his rapid rise in Turkish football.

The youngster will remain in Turkey this season as part of his development, but Newcastle will no doubt be keeping a close eye on his progress.

And if this latest strike is anything to go by, Diabate could be one to watch closely in the years ahead.
