WATCH: Sam Alabi scores stunner as FOUR Newcastle talents start for England U18s

Toon talent Sam Alabi was on the scoresheet for England Under-18s on Wednesday morning, opening the scoring with a stunner against South Korea.

It was another excellent showing from our young contingent, with all four Mags in the England squad handed starts as the Young Lions maintained their 100% record in the UEFA Friendship Cup.

Fresh from signing a pro deal at Newcastle, 17-year-old Alabi produced a moment of real quality to put England ahead, finding the net with a superb strike on his first international start at U18 level. Watch the strike below: 

South Korea fought back to level the game, but England grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time winner to make it three wins from three in the competition.

All four Newcastle players started, with Roman Dowell in goal, Alabi in centre midfield, Michael Mills on the left wing and Kyran Thompson on the right.

Mills was unable to make it three goals in three games, but Dowell produced another excellent one-on-one save to keep England level before that late winner.

Another big night for Newcastle’s youngsters

It has been some international break for the Newcastle Academy quartet.

Mills had already scored against both Colombia and Egypt, while Thompson provided the assist for Mills’ opener against Colombia and has continued to feature prominently.

Dowell has also impressed between the sticks, producing a number of important saves during the tournament, while Alabi has now made his mark with a stunning goal on his first England U18 start.

It means all four Newcastle youngsters have played a significant role in England topping their group, with another fixture to come on Saturday. The future looks bright!
