6 changes? - Predicted Newcastle team to face Bournemouth
Newcastle are back in action at St James' Park this afternoon, taking on an in-form Bournemouth side in the 3pm kick-off.
Our first home game since that 2-1 defeat to Sunderland a month ago and an absolute must-win game if we're to get ourselves back in the running for a European place.
We're backing Eddie Howe to make changes from last Sunday's collapse at Crystal Palace and our main man to return in midfield.
Predicted line-up
Newcastle XI: Ramsdale – Trippier, Thiaw, Burn, Hall – Bruno, Miley, Ramsey – Elanga, Woltemade, Gordon.
Perhaps elements of this side are what we'd like to see, rather than what's likely, but I am now hopeful that Bruno Guimaraes will be back in midfield.
Jacob Ramsey's athleticism and ball-carrying was missed last week, and Lewis Miley is here to stay now he's fit again, so it may be Sandro Tonali that misses out. After all, Howe hinted yesterday that players who are not '100% committed' may miss out.
At the back, I would not be surprised if Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn come back in, with Tino Livramento and Sven Botman both making costly mistakes last Sunday.
Nick Woltemade back up top may be another selection that is what I'd like, rather than Howe's likely selection, but our home record is far better with big Nick in the side, and it's time we got our most talented forward back into the side.
On the right wing, Jacob Murphy dropped a stinker last weekend and could well be taken out of the side for Anthony Elanga, although both are struggling for form these days.
OUT: Botman, Livramento, Joelinton, Tonali, Murphy and Osula.
IN: Burn, Trippier, Ramsey, Bruno, Elanga and Woltemade.
