Fernandez-Pardo passes Newcastle medical and Nick Woltemade arrives in Turin

Matias Fernandez-Pardo is set to be unveiled as a Newcastle United player at any moment.

After a £51m deal was agreed with Lille on Monday afternoon, the 21-year-old boarded a private jet to Newcastle with his family.

Having arrived on Tyneside last night, the Belgian international then completed his medical at the club, with Keith Downie revealing it was a late night for the player and staff to ensure everything was finalised.

The former KAA Gent star will wear the No.20 shirt at Newcastle and become our seventh signing of the summer, following moves for Gonzalez, Steur, Toure, Bamba, Dedic, Hornicek and Jaouen.

Woltemade in Italy to seal Juventus move

While one attacker arrives in Fernandez-Pardo, another is departing as Nick Woltemade closes in on a move to Juventus.

In another deadline day update, Keith Downie reveals that Woltemade has now arrived in Turin and is undergoing his medical with the Serie A side as we speak.

It will be a straight loan move, with no option or obligation to buy, but Juventus will pay a £3.5m loan fee and the striker's wages in full.

It's thought Woltemade is open to a new opportunity, with the chance of a move only sanctioned after Newcastle struck a deal to sign Fernandez-Pardo.

We wish Big Nick all the best ahead of a loan move that might just work well for all parties.

He will be allowed to play, boost his confidence and protect his value, removing the selection headache for Newcastle, who have signed a player more suited to Matthias Jaissle's style of play and system in Fernandez-Pardo.

Hopefully Woltemade shines in Italy, allowing the club to reassess next summer as all parties consider his next step.
