Kerim Alajbegovic offered to Newcastle United - Report
Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Kerim Alajbegovic as they look to add more options on the flanks.
Liverpool have already beaten Newcastle to one signing this summer, sniping Victor Munoz at the last minute, and if The Daily Mail is to be believed, they may not be done yet.
As Newcastle look to replace Anthony Gordon after his move to Barcelona, they have a couple of players in their sights in Lille's Matias Fernandez-Pardo and FC Köln's Said El Mala. However, the Mail is claiming that Liverpool also have their eyes on those two players should their moves for Yan Diomande or Bradley Barcola fail to come off.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign 18-year-old Kerim Alajbegovic, who is attracting plenty of interest from around Europe.
Kerim Alajbegovic is being tracked by several big clubs
The Mail claims that Alajbegovic is being tracked by Aston Villa, Arsenal and Leeds as well as clubs in Italy.
The youngster has made two appearances already at the World Cup for Bosnia, playing 16 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Canada and the full 90 as Bosnia was beaten 4-1 by Switzerland.
Despite having been offered to Newcastle, the Mail reports that Newcastle aren't likely to pursue the RB Salzburg player at this moment in time.
It's good to have options
If Liverpool are sniffing around our potential targets again, then it's just as well we have more than one option in mind. Although we're not convinced that Said El Mala is a realistic option.
Not because Said El Mala isn't a good player, but because it seems there's no move for him without bringing his brother too, and we just don't see Newcastle playing those games.
That may change if we miss out on Fernandez-Pardo, of course, but honestly, the idea of signing two players when we only want one reeks of the desperation that saw Odysseas Vlachodimos become a Newcastle player.
