Lewis Hall will request Newcastle exit without assurances - Bizarre from Ben Jacobs

Journalist Ben Jacobs is like a dog with a bone when it comes to his insistence that Lewis Hall is looking to leave Newcastle United.

Not only is Jacobs convinced that Lewis Hall is looking to leave Newcastle, but he's also adamant that the 21-year-old wants a move to Manchester United.

What's more baffling is that Jacobs has already been put in his place regarding these claims by several other journalists closer to Newcastle who have made it clear that no such turbulence exists.

Jacobs' claim that Lewis Hall was upset with Eddie Howe after not making it into the England squad for the World Cup was ripped apart as being complete nonsense.

Ben Jacobs' head is full of magic

However, Jacobs doesn't seem to want to give up on his story. He's either simply pandering to The United Stand podcast, where he keeps making these claims, or he's genuinely delusional.

On a recent live stream on The United Stand podcast, Ben Jacobs claims that Lewis Hall is set for showdown talks with Eddie Howe.

"Lewis Hall will speak to Eddie Howe and the Newcastle hierarchy, and it's new deal or sale? The player is aware of formative interest, Lewis Hall either wants to be a starter for Newcastle or somewhere else."

Where does Ben Jacobs get the idea that Lewis Hall won't start every game when he's fit?

Could Lewis Hall push for a new contract? Maybe

Lewis Hall may be feeling he's worth a new contract, but that's about where the truth starts and ends with Jacobs' claims.

We cannot fathom how Lewis Hall not getting into the England squad could possibly be Eddie Howe's fault. Ben Jacobs insists that Howe dropped him for several key games at the end of last season, but the actual figure was one. The game against Arsenal was when Howe thought that Dan Burn would be more solid in defence.

There have been plenty of stories denying any rift with Lewis Hall and Eddie Howe, and the idea that the lifelong Newcastle fan would demand an exit after one poor season is borne out of sheer fantasy rather than any having any basis in reality.

Watch. He'll be off to Arsenal next week now I've said this.
