Murphy and Willock set for talks and Newcastle boosted by Hall agreement - Report
It's been a busy past week at Newcastle United since the summer transfer window shut.
We've played Bournemouth and Millwall, saw Ross Wilson speak to the media in a wide-ranging interview, and are set to announce a new two-year extension for Lewis Hall, as NUFC Blog exclusively revealed last week.
And on the subject of new deals, it seems two more Mags could be set for extensions.
Murphy and Willock set for talks
The Mail's Craig Hope reports that Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock are set for talks over 12-month extensions at Newcastle United.
The pair received offers to leave the club over the summer, with Nottingham Forest offering £15m for Murphy and Bestikas approaching Newcastle over a £17m deal.
However, as Hope reports, Jaissle believes both are valuable senior members of the squad and communicated his wish to keep them on Tyneside.
As things stand, the duo will leave as free agents at the end of the season, but Toon chiefs are set to discuss new deals to protect their value.
Hall deal includes no exit clause
As we reported last week, Hope also confirms that Lewis Hall has reached an agreement on a new two-year extension, prolonging his current contract by five years in total.
Crucially, Hall's new deal does NOT include any release clause, putting Newcastle in a strong negotiating position when Man Utd inevitably come calling next summer.
Man Utd named the 22-year-old as their top left-back target earlier this year, but were told strictly by Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson that he was going nowhere.
