New footage of Sean Steur’s first day at Newcastle as No.14 signs - Watch here

Newcastle United announced their third summer signing on Wednesday as Ajax midfielder Sean Steur joined the club for £23 million.

The Dutch midfielder has arrived at Newcastle as a white-hot prospect. At just 18 years old, Steur is expected to go straight into Eddie Howe's first team squad for next season.

As is often the case, the club's media team were on hand to film Steur's first day at the club, meeting the likes of James Bunce and going through his medical.

Steur was a lot more chatty than Bazoumana Toure was on his first day with the 18-year-old stating his excitement at playing in front of the Newcastle fans.

Sean Steur will wear the famous Number 14

As Steur performed his media duties as a new signing, we got to see that he has picked the number 14 for next season, which was, of course, vacated last summer by Alexander Isak.

There have been some quality players to have worn that number for Newcastle, as well as Isak, particularly David Ginola and, of course, James Perch.

When asked why he picked 14, he said that it was a big number at Ajax, but when he saw it was available, it just felt right.

Ewen Jaouen has met Sean Steur

The players don't officially return to training until Monday, but new signing Ewen Jaouen was around to meet his fellow newbie, who said he's already had two and a half weeks of training with Ajax.

Steur looks extremely keen to get going at Newcastle, and we can't wait to hear his reaction after he steps out at St James' Park for the first time. That seems to be the thing he's looking forward to the most right now.

We're equally as excited to see what he can do in Eddie Howe's new-look young Mags.
