Newcastle eye Sucic and "at least" three signings with £150m budget - Report

With Bruno Guimaraes set to sign for Arsenal any day now, Newcastle United must focus on the future.

Replacing Bruno won't be easy - it may even be impossible this month from a like-for-like perspective, but using that money to invest in several areas of the squad could be a smart move.

And this is what Newcastle could look to do, as Mark Douglas explains in his latest piece for the iPaper, which discusses our ability to spend around £150m now Bruno's £75m sale has followed big-money exits for Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali. 

Sucic on radar - but three links played down 

Mark Douglas has revealed that Real Sociedad star Luka Sucic is on Newcastle's radar as we search for a new midfielder, a sprinkle of experience and full-back cover.

Sucic, 23, played under new boss Matthias Jaissle at RB Salzburg, and is considered one to watch and an 'intriguing option', with other targets kept under wraps as we spin plates behind the scenes.

However, three players currently deemed unlikely to sign include Dortmund's Felix Nmecha and ex-Wolves captain Ruben Neves, along with Porto’s Victor Froholdt and Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller.

Another attacker could also be targeted as the club plan to bring in "at least" three more signings following Bruno's sale, which has freed up further funds.

It's not clear if Jaissle will target a centre forward or a right winger, with the latter an ongoing issue after Elanga and Murphy's struggles last season. As for strikers, it's thought Wissa has looked razor sharp in training following his return from a productive World Cup /
