Nick Woltemade set for Newcastle United stay - Sky Germany

Nick Woltemade is back on Tyneside after an extended summer break, reporting for duty on Monday following the World Cup and a brief period of training at former club Werder Bremen.

The big man has been spotted full of smiles alongside fellow Mag Malick Thiaw, although that hasn't stopped the media linking him with a move away from St James' Park.

Rumours of the striker being allowed to leave on loan have been strongly rejected, while reports in Germany indicate that he's very much focused on his second season in the Premier League under Eddie Howe.

Big Nick going nowhere

Sky Germany chief Florian Plettenberg has issued a strong update on Nick Woltemade's future at Newcastle United, indicating the big man is here to stay.

He reports that sporting director Ross Wilson is a 'big fan' of the former Stuttgart forward and has 'no plans' to sell OR loan out the 24-year-old.

Nick's agent, Danny Bachmann, has also informed Sky Germany that he has not been put up for sale or loan, while Woltemade himself has already set himself targets for the 2026/27 campaign, highlighting his focus to kick on and fight for his place.

Woltemade needs support

Support from the stands will always be there for Big Nick, but it's also Eddie Howe's job to ensure we put forward a tactical plan to get the very best out of last summer's £69m signing.

As we know, Woltemade sometimes found himself too deep last season. Either out of position and looking lost, lacking service or bodies around him to bring the best out of his game.

On Nick's part, the challenge is nailing down his best position and proving he can adapt to the physicality of the Premier League, although we already saw in glimpses last season what a talented footballer he is.
