“We will be waiting for him” - Joelinton sends Bruno Guimaraes a warning
Joelinton has sent Bruno Guimaraes a warning ahead of his return to St James’ Park, joking that his close friend should not expect an easy time against Newcastle United.
Our former captain is due back with Arsenal on Saturday 21 November, with the game now a 5:30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.
Joelinton sends Bruno a message
Speaking to The Chronicle, Joelinton made it clear that their friendship will not earn Bruno any favours when the two sides meet.
With a smile, he said:
“We will be waiting for him here and give him some things!”
The warning came alongside plenty of affection for his former midfield partner, with Joelinton describing Bruno as one of his closest friends and wishing him and his family well.
He also defended what Bruno gave Newcastle, praising his commitment and the way he treated people during his time on Tyneside.

These two shared some of the best moments of Newcastle’s recent history, including that unforgettable Carabao Cup win at Wembley in 2025. There is plenty there that a move to Arsenal cannot erase.
Bruno reportedly even had a sleepover at Joelinton’s house after Arsenal’s recent trip to the North East. The visit which saw Arsenal beat the Mackems 2-0, with Bruno scoring a screamer and winding up the home support.
I’d certainly enjoy seeing beast mode Joelinton getting stuck into him. Bruno knows better than most what Big Joe brings to a contest, and being on the receiving end would be a rather different experience.
If there is another sleepover after the November game, hopefully Joelinton will be the one celebrating a win.
