Abde Ezzalzouli tempted by move to Newcastle United as trio show interest - Report

Newcastle United appear to be very keen on Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli as a replacement for Anthony Gordon.

Newcastle are no doubt casting a wide net to find the right player to replace England winger Anthony Gordon, who joined Barcelona in a £70 million deal on Friday.

Ross Wilson's scouting network has been hard at work for months now, scouring the globe for potential summer signings, and a new winger is a high priority for the Magpies.

One player whose name keeps appearing in the world of Newcastle United news is that of Real Betis' 24-year-old Moroccan winger Abde Ezzalzouli.

Abde Ezzalzouli would be keen on a move to Newcastle

It was recently reported that Ezzalzouli has a £51 million release clause in his Betis contract, which is tempting the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Betis could be forced into a sale as they must balance their books before the end of June, and according to Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness), the winger would find it hard to say no if Newcastle comes knocking.

"Now comes the moment of truth, and he will find it hard to say 'no' if Newcastle goes all out to replace Gordon."

Barcelona will do well out of this move

We have suspected that Ezzalzouli may have reservations about joining Newcastle given their lack of European football, and if Aston Villa makes a move, Unai Emery can offer Champions League football.

However, Sport seems to believe that Newcastle would be a tempting move for the Morocco international. They don't go into any detail as to why, but we'll take it for now. Any glimmer of hope is good.

Barcelona will do well out of this deal if it comes off, as they will get 20% of the sale of Ezzalzouli, and Betis have RCD Mallorca's Jan Virgili in mind as a replacement, and Barcelona will be entitled to 40% of that sale too.

This is why sell-on clauses are so important. We're glad that Newcastle were able to put one in Gordon's sale to Barca.
