Aladji Bamba's former coach shares exciting quotes on new Newcastle signing
Newcastle United completed the signing of Aladji Bamba from Monaco last week for around £30 million.
Bamba's arrival was swift and surprising, as the 20-year-old Frenchman's move was reported and completed in about 24 hours. Similar to how Sean Steur's move from Ajax materialised.
It gives us hope that the club is genuinely working on several other deals that we have absolutely no idea about. After these two signings, we're not getting excited by any links we may see and even report on, as we feel it's far more likely we won't find out who our genuine targets are until they are signed.
Back to Aladji Bamba. The former Monaco man is expected to play as a deep-lying midfielder given his excellent record in duels in Ligue 1 last season.

Eddie Howe has already hinted that will be his role in the side, but Bamba's former technical coach, Abel Lorincz, has been speaking to Sky Sports about Bamba's strengths.
While what he said about his defensive abilities was exciting, it's what he said about playing against teams who sit in a low block that really got us excited.
"He has the physicality, he has the aerial ability.
"He was switching the play against a team that was sat mainly in a low block.
“I think his main attribute is playing against a low block, those tiny little passes to break down a low defence, he is really good at it, good at turning under pressure."

A low block was Newcastle's kryptonite last season, and every opponent knew it. No matter what Newcastle did, how much possession they had, how much talent they had on the pitch, they just couldn't fathom how to break down a low block.
Aladji Bamba could be the key. We still haven't seen him in action for Newcastle. We may see a glimpse of him on Wednesday night as we take on Bristol City.
If breaking through low blocks really is what he does best, and he's able to do so at the Premier League level, Bamba could end up being a hugely important player for Newcastle.
