Bazoumana Touré linked with Arsenal and Manchester United just months after Newcastle move

Bazoumana Touré is reportedly being watched by Arsenal and Manchester United, just three months after joining Newcastle from Hoffenheim.

A report from CaughtOffside claims the two clubs have retained an interest in the 20-year-old, while Tottenham and Aston Villa are also said to be monitoring his progress.

Citing sources in the agents industry, the outlet says Arsenal and Man Utd followed Touré before Newcastle secured his signature in July and have continued tracking him since his arrival.

Newcastle reportedly relaxed over Touré's future

CaughtOffside says Newcastle remain relaxed about the interest, with Touré under contract until 2031 and considered an important part of the club's long-term plans.

When Newcastle announced the signing, then head coach Eddie Howe described Touré as having "a really high ceiling", while sporting director Ross Wilson said: "We are sure there's plenty more growth still to come."

He had scored five goals and registered nine assists in his final season at Hoffenheim, helping them finish fifth and qualify for the Europa League.

Give Touré a run in the side

Of course, it wouldn't be the first or last time a club signed a young player and quickly sold him on for a profit. But this is hardly a Yankuba Minteh situation.

We picked Minteh up for a reported £6.5m before selling him to Brighton for around £30m a year later. That was a sizeable profit on a player who cost us relative peanuts.

Touré's reported £43m move from Hoffenheim puts him in a different bracket. It would take a much bigger offer to make a quick sale similarly tempting.

He looks an exciting, if raw, young player, and we'd much rather see him get a run in the side ahead of the likes of Jacob Murphy at this point.
