'Hello Magpies' - Bazoumana Toure sends message to Newcastle fans

Newcastle United completed the signing of Bazoumana Toure on Sunday as the Ivorian became the Magpies' second signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old arrived on Tyneside just a couple of days after Ivory Coast were knocked out of the World Cup by England's next opponents, Norway.

The former Hoffenheim winger joined for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £43 million, breaking Hoffenheim's biggest sale record, which was previously held by Joelinton when Newcastle paid £40 million for the Brazilian.

In the video showing behind the scenes of Toure's signing day, the youngster never stopped smiling the whole time.

Bazoumana Toure can't wait to get going

Now, Bazoumana Toure has taken to Instagram to deliver a message to the Newcastle fans as he awaits his first taste of life at his new club.

"Hello Magpies 🖤🤍

"I’m incredibly happy and proud to be here. Joining Newcastle United is a dream come true, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a historic club.

"I know what it means to wear this shirt and I’m ready to give everything for the team and it’s incredible fans. I want to thank everyone at Newcastle United for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Your trust means a lot and I can’t wait to repay it on the pitch.

"To the fans: thank you for the amazing welcome and support. I’ve already felt the passion that makes this club so special and I’m excited to play in front of you at St James’ Park.

"Now I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates, working with the coaching staff and starting this new chapter."

Newcastle return to training on Monday

Eddie Howe and his players are due to return to training on Monday 13th July, although we don't expect those who were involved in the World Cup to return right away, unless they want to.

Bazoumana Toure seems eager to get started so he could be there at The KNOX on Monday morning, raring to go.

Newcastle's last remaining World Cup participant is Big Dan Burn, so he definitely won't be there on Monday, and hopefully he'll not be on his way back to England either as the Three Lions face Norway on Saturday night at 10pm.
