Kieran Trippier in talks over surprise move to Wolves - Report
Kieran Trippier said his goodbyes to the Toon Army on Sunday at St James' Park, although he will likely be involved one last time for Newcastle United on Sunday at Fulham.
The former England right-back made the decision to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season and was given a huge farewell by the St James' Park faithful before and after the win over West Ham.
Trippier hasn't yet revealed his next move, although he has hinted that he'd love to come back to Newcastle in a coaching capacity when he eventually hangs up his boots.
Between now and then is anyone's guess, although a report has come out today that suggests the 35-year-old may be playing Championship football next season.
Wolves open talks with Kieran Trippier
According to the Express and Star, based in the Midlands, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to offer Trippier a stay in England.
They believe talks have already taken place between Trippier and Wolves over a summer switch, while also admitting that there are other clubs at the table.
It's likely to be a little while yet before we find out Trippier's next steps, however, with the former England regular expected to consider his offers before committing early.
Will Tripps stay in England?
We've always thought that Trippier would move abroad after he was done with Newcastle. Perhaps to the MLS or Saudi Arabia.
We never had him down for a move to the Championship, but that's not to say that it can't or won't happen.
Tripps seems to have hit his mid-life crisis since splitting with his wife, which is why we backed him to join Inter Miami so he can go and live his best life in the Sunshine State for a year or two before coming back to the Toon to coach.
