Newcastle United are taking a close look at Norwegian attacker Bo Hegland, according to a new report.
Transferfeed claims that Newcastle are the latest club considering a move for the 22-year-old in the new year following his outstanding form with Swedish side Djurgården.
The attacking midfielder has racked up 24 goal involvements in just 25 games over the 2025/26 campaign, netting eight times and laying on 16 assists.
It's believed that a host of 'top clubs across Europe' are taking note of his form, with Newcastle the latest side sending scouts to watch the Norway Under-21 international.
Hegland is under contract until the end of 2029 and has previously been linked with a move to Belgian giants Anderlecht.
A risk worth taking if the price is right?
At 22, Hegland is no longer a young teenager who could sign, spend a season out on loan and be given years to come good.
That said, he is turning heads in Sweden and primed for a call-up to the Norwegian national side, where he'll be looking to step into Martin Odegaard's boots in the years to come.
As a creative No.10 who also stands over six feet tall, he may tick boxes for Newcastle and Jaissle's 4-2-3-1 system, but it would certainly be a risk.
One to watch in 2027, perhaps, as a high-potential, low-cost option Wilson may be keen to pursue.
