Newcastle Loan Watch: Cordero delivers for new boss as Woltemade gets his chance

Antonio Cordero scored his fourth goal of the season as Cádiz came from behind to win under their new manager, while Nick Woltemade finally earned his first Serie A start for Juventus.

There were clean sheets for Alex Murphy and Odysseas Vlachodimos, an assist for Rory Finneran and a Hebburn debut for Aidan Harris.

Cordero delivers for his new boss

A change of manager hasn't cost Cordero his place at Cádiz. He started Borja Jiménez's first game in charge and helped turn a half-time deficit into a 3-1 home win over Ceuta on Sunday.

The Newcastle winger was credited with the assist for the equaliser before putting Cádiz ahead from the penalty spot. He played 83 minutes, taking his tally to four goals and two assists in 11 league appearances.

After Albert Celades' dismissal last week, that's a good way to introduce yourself to the new gaffer. Cordero has now started five league games in a row.

Cádiz next visit Xerez in the Copa del Rey tonight.

Big Nick gets his league chance

Woltemade followed last Thursday's goal and assist against Rennes with his first Serie A start in Sunday's 2-0 win at Lecce.

He completed both games, having scored Juventus' equaliser from the penalty spot in the 2-2 Europa League draw. That made it three goals in three European appearances.

All five of his previous league outings had come from the bench, so getting a full game at Lecce was a welcome step forward even without a goal. The next chance comes away to Genoa tonight.

Finneran assists again and Murphy keeps another clean sheet

Rory Finneran - Notts County

Finneran played the full game in last Tuesday's 2-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday, supplying the pass for County's second goal.

We covered his excellent assist last week, with the midfielder turning away from pressure before driving forward and releasing his teammate.

He completed another 90 minutes in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Stockport. Notts next visit Mansfield on Saturday, 31 October.

Alex Murphy - Kaiserslautern

Murphy kept his starting place and completed Saturday's 1-0 win at Nuremberg, following his full appearance in the 2-0 victory over Bochum.

Two starts, two wins and two clean sheets is a decent return since coming back into the side. Kaiserslautern next visit Hannover in the German Cup tonight.

The other loan updates

Odysseas Vlachodimos - Sevilla

Vlachodimos completed Monday night's 2-0 home win over Osasuna, keeping a clean sheet after conceding seven across Sevilla's previous two games.

Sevilla scored in each half, with their Newcastle goalkeeper making two saves. He has now played every minute of their opening ten league games.

Sevilla next face Sporting de Hortaleza away in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, 29 October.

Ousmane Diabaté - Gençlerbirliği

Diabaté made his sixth consecutive league start since returning on loan, completing Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Konyaspor and picking up a booking.

He remains the most-used outfield player in our tracker, with 496 of a possible 540 minutes. Gençlerbirliği next host Karaköprü Belediyespor in the Turkish Cup on Thursday, 29 October.

Sean Neave - Wolves

Neave started last Tuesday's 1-1 home draw with Portsmouth but was replaced at half-time after being booked in the first half.

He returned to the bench for Saturday's 1-0 home win over Watford, coming on in stoppage time. Wolves next host Cardiff on Saturday, 31 October.

Anthony Munda - Swindon Town

Munda completed last Tuesday's 3-1 win at Barnet, his 11th consecutive league start, but injury kept him out of Saturday's goalless draw at Bristol Rovers.

Swindon next host Rotherham on Saturday, 31 October.

Harrison Ashby - Luton Town

Ashby remained absent as Luton beat Doncaster 3-1 on Tuesday night, following their 2-1 home wins over Barnsley and Leicester.

The Newcastle defender has now missed three successive games since hurting himself while crossing in training before the MK Dons fixture. Jack Wilshere had suggested a possible return against Doncaster, but Ashby was again left out of the squad.

Luton next visit Peterborough on Saturday, 31 October.

Leo Shahar - Arouca

Shahar was an unused substitute in Saturday's 1-0 win at Alverca and is still waiting for his first competitive appearance for Arouca. What a waste of time this move is proving to be.

Their next game is at home to Nacional on Sunday, 1 November.

Aidan Harris - Hebburn Town

We're adding Harris to the tracker this week, with this loan being particularly close to home for me.

The goalkeeper made his debut in Saturday's 2-2 draw at AFC Telford, completing the game as Hebburn rescued a point through a late equaliser.

They next host Harborough on Saturday, 31 October.

Who is getting the minutes?

Competitive first-team minutes during each player's current loan this season, through Tuesday, 27 October. Cup games and extra time are included; friendlies, internationals, pre-loan games and stoppage time are excluded.
