Newcastle Loan Watch: Neave assists Wolves win as Cordero's boss is sacked
Sean Neave marked his first Championship start with an assist in Wolves' comeback win at Burnley, while Nick Woltemade was on target again for Juventus in Europe.
There was also a clean sheet for Alex Murphy in Germany, but Antonio Cordero faces a change of manager after Cádiz sacked theirs on Monday.
Neave takes his chance at Wolves
Neave made his first Championship start in Friday's 2-1 win at Burnley, as we covered on Saturday.
With Wolves trailing, he squared the ball for Fer Lopez to equalise in the 39th minute. The Newcastle striker played 71 minutes before being replaced, with the visitors scoring their winner shortly afterwards.
It followed a five-minute appearance in Tuesday's 3-1 home defeat to Bolton. His four previous Championship appearances had brought just 18 minutes between them.
Wolves host Portsmouth on Tuesday, 20 October.
Big Nick bags again in Europe
Woltemade completed Thursday's 2-1 Europa League win at Celta Vigo, scoring the equaliser with a volley in the 58th minute. We covered his goal and Juventus' late comeback in more detail on Friday.
He was back among the substitutes for Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Lazio, coming on at half-time and going close to an equaliser with Juventus trailing 1-0.
All five of his Serie A appearances have come from the bench, while he has scored in both of his Europa League starts.
Juventus next host Rennes in Europe on Thursday, 22 October.
Cordero loses his manager at Cádiz
Cádiz sacked manager Albert Celades on Monday following Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Granada, where Cordero started and was replaced after 56 minutes.
The Newcastle winger had started their last four league games, including his two-goal display against Leganés earlier this month. Whether he retains that starting place will be the immediate question under the next manager.
Cádiz next host Ceuta on Sunday, 25 October.
