WATCH: Bazoumana Toure scores for Ivory Coast in Tuesday night win

Bazoumana Touré got himself on the scoresheet for Ivory Coast last night, helping his country make it back-to-back wins in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Newcastle winger came off the bench to score a stoppage-time goal as Ivory Coast beat Somalia 2-0, following their opening 2-0 victory over Ghana last week.

Touré scores late for Ivory Coast

Touré was introduced in the 65th minute and made his mark in added time to secure the win.

After Yann Gboho had put Ivory Coast ahead in the 89th minute, Touré added the second in the fifth minute of stoppage time to wrap up a 2-0 victory.

It was a first senior international goal for the Newcastle youngster, who had made a late appearance in the 2-0 win over Ghana four days earlier.

Another Mag benefiting from the international break 

Touré becomes the latest Newcastle player to enjoy a productive international break so far.

Yoane Wissa has been particularly impressive for DR Congo, scoring against both Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe while also providing a quality assist in Monday’s 2-1 win over Zimbabwe.

Michael Mills has also scored twice for England U18s, while Lewis Hall impressed for England against Czechia last night, just a few days after Lukas Hornicek shone on his competitive senior debut for the Czech Republic.

Sean Steur has also made his Netherlands U21 debut during the international break, adding more valuable experience to what has been an encouraging start to life at Newcastle for the teenage talent. 

For Touré, this is another important moment for the former Hoffenhein man, with last night’s strike his first senior international goal after the 20-year-old represented Ivory Coast at the World Cup this summer.
