Will Osula handed new squad number as Newcastle changes 'leak' online

Newcastle United have yet to confirm their squad numbers for the upcoming season, but several changes have leaked online already.

Fans looking to get their favourite player's name and number printed on the back of next season's replica kits have noted a few squad number changes in the online store.

While squad numbers aren't typically announced until closer to the start of the new season, allowing for changes due to transfer activity, online stores need to be a bit more up to date.

The last thing you want to do is order a shirt with your favourite player's name and number on it during pre-season only for the number to change before the season officially gets underway. Although it's always a risk getting a name and number on a shirt when the transfer window is still open anyway.

Will Osula has been handed the No 10 shirt

Eager fans looking to do just that, though, have noticed that on the official club store website, there are three first-team players who are set to be sporting new numbers next season, with Will Osula and Tino Livramento handed huge squad number upgrades.

Anthony Elanga has moved from number 20 to 19, which hardly seems worth it unless 19 holds some sort of significance for the Swedish international.

Tino Livramento has taken over the vacant number 2 from Kieran Trippier, which makes sense, but it's Will Osula who must be feeling like the cock of the walk right now after taking over Anthony Gordon's number 10 shirt.

Perhaps this is the biggest indication yet that Osula is likely to start the campaign as Eddie Howe's preferred choice to lead the line.

Toure and Jaouen's numbers have been revealed

As we already knew, Sean Steur has taken on the Number 14, which, after the iconic number nine, is quite a significant shirt number having been worn by the likes of David Ginola and Alexander Isak.

Fellow newbies, Bazoumana Toure and Ewen Jaouen's numbers have also been revealed via the website, with Toure taking number 17 and Jaouen taking number 24.

We'd still advise holding off before getting kits personalised as these numbers are still subject to change, but that Will Osula change is huge when you consider he was being constantly linked with a move away last season before he went on that goal-scoring run at the end of the campaign.
