Barnes, Joelinton & Hall start - Confirmed Newcastle team vs Bayer Leverkusen
The team sheets are in at the BayArena, where Newcastle United take on Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.
Newcastle head into the game 15th in the league phase, but know a win would send us straight back into top eight contention as we look to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at Marseille last time out.
Here is how the two sides line up ahead of tonight's 8pm kick-off...
Confirmed line-ups
Newcastle XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale - Livramento, Thiaw, Burn, Hall - Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton - Gordon, Woltemade, Barnes.
Subs: Thompson, Harrison, Schar, Wissa, Elanga, J. Murphy, Willock, A.Murphy, Ramsey, Miley
Leverkusen XI (3-4-2-1): Flekken - Andrich, Quansah, Tapsoba - Arthur, Maza, Aleix García, Grimaldo - Tillman, Poku - Schick.
Eddie Howe has made FOUR changes from Saturday's 2-1 win over Burnley, where Schar, Willock, Ramsey and Elanga have been replaced by Hall, Tonali, Joelinton and Barnes.
It's a strong Newcastle side, featuring both of four young full-backs, our strongest midfield trio and Gordon and Barnes either side of Woltemade, who returns to Germany for the first time since his £69m move from Stuttgart.
As expected, Newcastle remain without Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Kieran Trippier, Emil Krafth and Will Osula, who are absent from the squad once again.
For Leverkusen, star man and flying wing-back Alejandro Grimaldo is fit enough to start, with the Spaniard in their XI alongside familiar names like Quansah, Tapsoba and Schick.
Howay the lads!
