Bazoumana Toure spotted on Tyneside with £43m move imminent - Watch
Newcastle United are close to announcing their second first-team signing of the summer.
The Magpies acted quickly to bag France Under 21 goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, but then things went eerily quiet on the incoming transfer front.
However, once a deal was reached for Sandro Tonali to go to Tottenham Hotspur for £100 million, there were suddenly plenty of stories around potential incomings.
One that moved very quickly was that of Ivorian winger Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim.
Bazoumana Toure spotted at St James' Park
Just hours after Ivory Coast were knocked out of the World Cup, it was being claimed that Newcastle were advancing with a move for the 20-year-old.
After being pipped to Victor Munoz by Liverpool, Newcastle fans were understandably trying not to get too carried away with the reports, although all signs were very positive.
A picture of Toure on a jet flying to Newcastle did the rounds on social media, and while that was a strong sign, we've seen players arrive in the country for talks with one club and end up at another, but then, on Friday, a video of Bazoumana Toure inside St James' Park started doing the rounds.
It's almost done
Again, until he's holding the shirt in an official announcement from the club, always operate under the impression that it's not done yet.
However, we'd say this is about as convincing a piece of media as you're likely to see before anything official hits the internet.
Newcastle tend to take its sweet time doing announcements, so while there's a chance we may see something today, we'll not be holding our breath.
