Bazoumana Toure signs! - Announcement video, full details and first Newcastle interview

Newcastle United have announced their second signing of the summer transfer window in the last few moments.

Following on from Ewen Jaouen's arrival from Reims last month, the club have confirmed that Bazoumana Toure has now sealed a switch to St James' Park on Sunday evening.

It was reported earlier this week that a £43m deal has been struck with Hoffenheim, and the 20-year-old winger has now completed the formalities, putting pen to paper over a long-term contract.

As we first revealed in a NUFC Blog exclusive back in May, Newcastle have been taking a close look at Toure for some time and now have their man, seeing the pacey Ivorian replace Anthony Gordon on the left side of our attack.

See the announcement video below, followed by Bazoumana's first words as a Newcastle United player.

Toure excited to sign

Toure is clearly delighted to arrive on Tyneside, revealing how desperate he's been to play in the Premier League.

"I'm very, very happy to be here. It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle.

"Newcastle is like a family, which will help me show my best on the pitch. I will give my best every single day for this shirt.

"I'm very excited to join Newcastle and I can't wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters and everybody at the club. I'm also very excited to play at St. James' Park for the first time."

The Ivory Coast winger represented his country at the World Cup recently, and finished the 2025/26 season with five goals and 12 assists across 30 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim.

A creative spark with bags of pace

Toure's rise has been an impressive on in recent years, seeing him go from an exciting teenager with Swedish side Hammarby to lighting up the Bundesliga.

Last season, in his first full campaign in Germany, the 20-year-old delivered 17 goal involvements in just 30 league appearances.

He not only possesses bags of pace, the bravery to go past his man and a good first touch, but also excellent delivery into the box, highlighted by his impressive assist and chance-creation numbers. His physical numbers also stand out, giving him every chance of fitting into Eddie Howe's high-intensity style.

Welcome to Newcastle, Bazoumana!
